Smart City in India with Google Support
There are public gatherings; Google has taken the project to
build special fast-moving Wi-Fi services in these places. As part of the
initiative, Google launches their fastest internet hotspot in Pune, 150
kilometers south-east of Mumbai. The Mashable told the news.
With the aim to make Pune city a 'Smart City', Google has
with the local authority Pune Smart City Development Corp., with the addition
of ITC giant Larsen and Tourbow (L & T), India's state-run internet service
provider RailTel and IBM.
Google spokesman Mashable said to India, "We have seen
high-powered and easily accessible public Wi-Fi can play an important role in
creating a huge Internet service for millions of Internet users in the future."
Apart from this, this project will help Indians to get access to the Internet
more easily.
The spokesman also said, "We believe that Google
stations can support ISP, venue operators and state governments with fast and
reliable capabilities to help providing speedy internet access." Economic
Times first reports about this assistance.
Last year Google announced a similar program. Google wants
to help individuals or organizations with a good internet connection to provide
fast internet connection at low cost. Google's VPC Jarssen Gupta said that
these people or organizations will be given financial benefits.
According to the Economic Times report, IBM will work to
resolve the problem quickly. The responsibility of building a connecting line
is on the shoulders of the state-run RailTel. They will also send information
messages to 161 locations in the city. Besides, Maharashtra government and
ITJient L & T will assist in the construction of Wi-Fi connectivity in 500
locations in Mumbai.
