Smart City in India with Google Support

There are public gatherings; Google has taken the project to build special fast-moving Wi-Fi services in these places. As part of the initiative, Google launches their fastest internet hotspot in Pune, 150 kilometers south-east of Mumbai. The Mashable told the news.

With the aim to make Pune city a 'Smart City', Google has with the local authority Pune Smart City Development Corp., with the addition of ITC giant Larsen and Tourbow (L & T), India's state-run internet service provider RailTel and IBM.


Google spokesman Mashable said to India, "We have seen high-powered and easily accessible public Wi-Fi can play an important role in creating a huge Internet service for millions of Internet users in the future." Apart from this, this project will help Indians to get access to the Internet more easily.

The spokesman also said, "We believe that Google stations can support ISP, venue operators and state governments with fast and reliable capabilities to help providing speedy internet access." Economic Times first reports about this assistance.

Last year Google announced a similar program. Google wants to help individuals or organizations with a good internet connection to provide fast internet connection at low cost. Google's VPC Jarssen Gupta said that these people or organizations will be given financial benefits.


According to the Economic Times report, IBM will work to resolve the problem quickly. The responsibility of building a connecting line is on the shoulders of the state-run RailTel. They will also send information messages to 161 locations in the city. Besides, Maharashtra government and ITJient L & T will assist in the construction of Wi-Fi connectivity in 500 locations in Mumbai.
